The Poker Face of Poker Pro Surinder Sunar
Having a poker face is what poker professionals have to master before entering poker events. Of course, most poker professionals know how to wear a poker face but the question here is how long can they maintain having poker faces in front of their opponents. There are some who forget that they should wear poker faces as they lose composure and the game as well, while there are some who successfully wear poker faces all throughout a poker game which becomes their edge to winning. Well, Surinder Sunar is one of those poker professionals who definitely know how to remain expressionless during the entire duration of a poker game. He is known as a poker professional who definitely knows the true essence of concentration and patience.
Born in Dhinpur Punjab, India on April 1, 1959, British poker professional Surinder Sunar's concentration on playing poker was tested when, in the middle of a poker game, his opponent Dave Ulliott informed him about the death of Princess Diana. It was a news that badly affected him and he was thinking about it during the rest of the game. Nevertheless, he continued to be expressionless, wearing the same face as he did as soon as he sat at the poker table, and still emerged as the first placer.
At the third season of the World Poker Tour Gradn Prix de Paris event, the concentration of Surinder Sunar was once again tested. During the time when only him and poker professional Tony G were left at the poker table, the latter was aggressively playing and was saying negative things to Surinder Sunar. Tony was saying things like Surinder Sunar's playing style was putting him to sleep. Surinder Sunar continued to wear a poker face, not minding at all the offensive words that Tony was saying. Tony was humiliated at the end of the game when Surinder Sunar finished first place, taking home the grand prize of €679,000.
This poker professional who lives in Wolverhampton, England was first seen participating in the television program "Late Night Poker," wherein he displayed his skills in playing Hold'em games. He became a finalist of such show twice.
