Rhett Butler has been playing poker for more than twenty five years now. The poker public recognizes him for always being visible in poker events. However, he did not have that much success in the past as he did not have that much money finishes. Furthermore, he has not experienced first prize wins yet. Nonetheless, Rhett Butler is well-recognized in the poker industry due to his consistent presence in various poker tournaments and due to his apparent determination to succeed in this field that he has chosen.
Rhett Butler was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland but moved to Rockville, Maryland where he resides with his wife and three children. Although he was already passionate about poker when he was still young, he made sure that he would be able to complete a college degree, which he earned at the James Madison University in Virginia.
In the past, Rhett Butler has not experienced how it was to cash in a poker event. And it was one heck of a victory when he qualified for the No Limit Hold'em Championship game of the 37th Annual World Series of Poker. He did not become the first prize winner in this event that was held on the 10th of August in 2006 but the real victory in it was the fact that such championship game has turned him into a millionaire. Rhett Butler was only the fifth placer. However, he was still considered a winner because he had the opportunity to take home US$3,216,182.
Rhett Butler, whose first source of income was really professional poker before he became an insurance agent, got inspired to join more events after a single event made him an overnight millionaire. Four months after such victory, he was seen competing at the tournament called the Bellgaio Five Diamond World Poker Classic. Such tournament was conducted by the World Poker Tour during its fifth season. The exact date of the event was December 8, 2006 and he specifically participated in such event as the No Limit Hold'em game. Rhett Butler finished fourth and had the chance to be awarded the cash prize worth US$51,890.
Two days after such fourth-place win, Rhett Butler once again decided to try his luck in the same game. Still at the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic, Rhett Butler once again cashed in the money but only ended in the twenty-fourth place but nonetheless, was able to get prize winnings amounting to US$7,150.
On March 6, 2007, Rhett Butler joined the Winn Classic tournament and emerged as the first place winner of the H. O. S. game. The cash that Rhett Butler was able to receive totaled to US$41,990.
His latest poker winnings were worth US$40,000 which he earned after cashing in the money in a game of No Limit Hold'em conducted at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure event. Such event was part of the fourth season of the European Poker Tour and was held on the tenth of January, 2008.
It seems that his 2006 victory has inspired him to do even better as a poker professional.
